Hunger Games Inspired Socks

For an adventurous intermediate or expert knitter.

This sock is designed for the (ahem) active wearer. The super-heavy-duty replaceable sole sports a shaped arch to hug your foot and a lace instep and leg for breathability. It's a sock even Katniss could love.

These socks have a heavy-duty (and replaceable) toe-sole-heel using
Judy’s Magic Cast-on and two strands of fingering-weight sock yarn held together.
The socks are knit toe-up with a gusset and heel flap, and contain a secret pocket—keep a poison pellet, a knife, or a house key there while you’re out running your own personal gauntlet.

The top of the sock is breathable lace, filled with arrowheads, three- stranded love knots running up the sides, and a forest of cables on the back of the leg which wrap around and periodically embrace the three-stranded cables on the front. Sizing suggestions are included. The sample was knit in two colors to make it easier to see the sole and instep distinctly.

The pattern consists of 14 pages of clear and detailed instructions. The knitter must be comfortable with CHARTS. Measurements are given in US standard and metric.

Sizing—
SML. Length of foot, leg, and calf position are adjustable.

Materials—
any fingering weight yarn or sock yarn. Solid colors show off the pattern best.
Needles: US 1 - 2.25 mm

Gauge—
28 sts=4 in/10cm; 38 rows=4” on sole-stitch stockinette; same on stockinette arrowhead lace
